Just recently qualified for Para Asian Games, he was found in Sai Upvan area of Ghaziabad leading police to investigate what may be a potential murder case.
Chirag’s Body Discovered in Ghaziabad Park
Based on evidence gathered, police officials were able to confirm that Chirag’s body was found in the Sai Upvan area of Ghaziabad city under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station. The initial examination of the deceased indicated that he suffered a large open wound on the back; this has raised reasons to suspect foul play. Investigators are yet to determine if the injury was inflicted via gunshot/sharp object/other means. The exact cause of death will be established from an autopsy.

Details of the Last Day
According to investigators, earlier on that Saturday morning Tyagi had left his hostel (located in New Delhi) and began travelling back to his home located within his village located in the Muradnagar district of Ghaziabad. The family of Tyagi stated that he had contacted them earlier that same day stating that he was coming home, but hours later the family was contacted by various police agencies notifying them that the body had been recovered.
His uncle remembered the athlete’s voice sounding perfectly fine when they last spoke; he mentioned he’d be back on the field soon after winning the event at the national championships. Family members can’t believe how quickly everything has changed and they are trying to deal with being catapulted into disbelief.

Police are investigating the case as a suspected murder and have apparently obtained CCTV footage from the scene which assisted investigators in identifying the alleged perpetrator. Police reports have indicated that a fellow para-athlete has been questioned regarding this incident.
