Controversies Surround Prize Money Distribution
Sabalenka’s opulent appearance created quite a stir within the tennis community. Following the event, there was significant discussion from players such as Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek about how the Grand Slam tournaments distribute prize money and whether or not they appropriately share revenue with their respective tours and with the larger tennis community.
Critics of Sabalenka expressed shock at the way she wore expensive jewelry (valued at 1 crore rupees) promoting the idea that players deserve to get paid more, which seemed contradictory. Discussions raged on social media about whether the value of her jewelry was greater than the prize money of some players who lost in the first couple of rounds.
Sabalenka answers critics
During a press conference after one of her matches, Sabalenka responded to the accusations of hypocrisy and stated that her personal sponsorship and luxury endorsements were distinct from the topic of financial responsibility in professional tennis.

She stated that the conversation is about more than just top-ranked players, but rather about creating sustainable conditions for all players throughout the entire professional tennis circuit.
