The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has urged the Telangana government to launch a high-level investigation after actor Rajesh Sharma reportedly fell seriously ill while filming Fauji at Ramoji Film City. The association has also raised questions about workplace safety, emergency medical preparedness, and hygiene standards at the shooting location.
AICWA Seeks Transparent Investigation Into Incident
The All Indian Cine Workers Association has called for an immediate, impartial and transparent inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Rajesh Sharma’s medical emergency during the shooting of Fauji.
In a press statement issued on Wednesday, AICWA president Er. Suresh Shyamlal Gupta said Sharma’s health reportedly worsened while he was participating in the film’s shooting schedule. He later travelled to Kolkata, where he was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
According to the association, the actor remains under close medical observation and is reportedly “still not out of danger”.

Questions Raised Over Emergency Response
AICWA has questioned why Rajesh Sharma was not immediately shifted to a leading hospital in Hyderabad if his condition had become critical during the shoot.
The association has also sought clarification on whether emergency medical assistance was readily available at the filming location and whether all mandatory workplace health and safety protocols were being properly implemented.

Concerns Over Safety and Hygiene at Film Sets
The workers’ body said it has repeatedly highlighted issues related to poor hygiene, inadequate sanitation, unsafe working environments, and the absence of sufficient emergency medical facilities at film shooting locations.
It further stated that many workers and technicians hesitate to report such incidents openly because they fear losing work opportunities or facing professional repercussions.

Appeal to Telangana Chief Minister
AICWA has appealed to Revanth Reddy to order a high-level investigation into the incident at the Fauji set.
According to the association, the inquiry should determine the reason behind Sharma’s medical emergency, examine whether workplace safety, hygiene, and emergency medical protocols were followed, and establish if there was any negligence on the part of the producer, production house, or other responsible authorities.
Association Calls for Accountability and Medical Support
The association has also demanded strict legal action if the investigation uncovers any lapses.
In addition, AICWA has urged the producer and production house of Fauji to bear the complete cost of Rajesh Sharma’s medical treatment and ensure he receives the best possible care until he recovers.
