In a charming amalgamation of tradition, technology and tranquility, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will bring his flagship PPCK 2026 to the land of Assam. On the morning of Sunday, 21st December 2025, the Prime Minister will break free from the traditional auditorium environment and engage with a group of 25 students onboard MV Charaidew, the heritage cruise vessel on Brahmaputra River.

This `Guwahati Edition’ of PPC 2026 is a prelude to the main national tournament in January. By selecting the Brahmaputra for his backdrop, he is not just speaking about exam-related anxiety, but also drawing attention to the cultural and developmental importance of our regions in the Northeast as an engine of “Viksit Bharat”.
The Cruise Interaction: A Classroom on the Water
Engagement is scheduled for a personal, 40-minute session at 8:00. The students – who belonged to government, private and central schools in different parts of the State – were shortlisted on the basis of their academic performance and interesting questions posted them through MyGov platform.
Two of such students, Piyush Debnath from Silchar and Arpita Das from North Guwahati, are ecstatic. Piyush intends to voice the collective opinion of students on psychological pressure, while Arpita plans on questioning the Prime Minister regarding making computer education mandatory in an increasingly digitising world.
The cruise takes you to the picturesque Umananda Temple for a peaceful conversation. This novel set-up is just one cog in the machinery to convert ‘Pariksha’ (exam) from a nightmare into an ‘Utsav’ (festival), which incidentally is a cornerstone of PM Modi’s book, Exam Warriors.
Security and Logistics: Guwahati gets ready for the PM
The city has been turned into a high security fortress in view of visit. The IWT department has cancelled all ferry services between Guwahati and North Guwahati for Sunday on account of the event.
“The unveiling ceremony will give a major fillip to river tourism, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while visiting the just inaugurated Guwahati Gateway Ghat Terminal at Fancy Bazar. Constructed at a cost of ₹400 crore, the Terminal will be the boarding point for PM. For an incident-free event, there will be elaborate mock drills by the Special Protection Group (SPG) and Assam Police.Police have imposed minor traffic diversion at some points near riverfront.
“Exam Stress: The New Global Movement against it” PPC 2026
In the process, the Pariksha Pe Charcha 2026 campaign is exceeding global numbers (while we will get to a Pun) Since the Brahmaputra cruise will be a local highlight, its larger statistics from South Korea that were interesting for us to find out. As of 20 December, 2025 registrations for the 9th edition have already exceeded over 1.27 crore runners from across 245 countries.
Registration deadline: Students from Classes 6 to 12, parents and teachers can register on the MyGov portal by January 11, 2025.
The Reward: Some 2,050 winners will be awarded a special “PPC Kit,” which consists of the book Exam Warriors and Prime Minister’s certificate.
New Formats: After last year’s success at Sunder Nursery, the 2026 edition introduces “Theme-based Episodes“, from Mental Well-being, to Nutrition and therole of AI in education.
Besides the Hug: PM’s Assam Schedule
The two-day visit of the Prime Minister to Assam is full of developmental touchstones. He also launched the “nature themed” terminal building for the Lokapriya Gopinath Bardoloi international airport, a ₹4,000 crore project before joining the cruise interaction. After the PPC, he will visit Swahid Smarak Kshetra to pay tributes to the 860 martyrs of the Assam Movement and then lay foundation for ₹12,000 crore fertiliser plant in Namrup.
The Brahmaputra engagement is the most “human” part of this visit. It reinforces the connection between its governance and infrastructure development and the well-being of the minds of tomorrow, showing that in even top-level political debates, mental health comes first.
