Joe Root was the hero with 138 not out- his first big hundred in Australia, which was quite impressive. He saved the innings from a very bad start of 2 wickets for 5 runs. England battled all Day at Brisbane’s Gabba in the 2nd Ashes TEST but it seems their luck was not on their side and got bowled out for 334.

Build, Smash or Spell?
Zak Crawley made 76 to help Root build strong stand. Jofra Archer smashed 38 with big sixes at the end, adding 61 runs for the last wicket. But Australia’s Michael Starc stole the show with 6 wickets for 92 runs. His swing bowling made England lose 5 wickets quickly.

Australia is chasing strong at 141 for 1wicket, trailing by about 193 runs. Travis Head scored a quick 59 before being out. Marnus Labuschagne is still there. Jofra Archer took the wicket of Jake Weatherald to slow them down a bit. Now it’s their batsmen like Smith and Khawaja’s turn to shine out.
England’s fight!
Australia won the First Test in Perth by 8 wickets, so they led the series 1-0. England brought in Will Jacks for injured Mark Wood. The match goes into Day 3 today– can England fight back with their fast bowlers? Fans love this close rivalry between the two.
