The second day of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to India began and ended at the Rashtrapati Bhawan. There, he was greeted with a ceremonial welcome and a guard of honour from all three services. At the end of his two-day trip, President Droupadi Murmu hosted a banquet in his honour. In the middle, he spoke at a news conference alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi and attended a business gathering with him. Both countries reaffirmed their dedication to the political links they share.

Here are the important lessons from Putin’s India visit—
Before he met with Putin, PM Modi talked about the war in Ukraine and said that India is not neutral but on the “side of peace.” “We always want peace.” “A peaceful end to the conflict is what we want,” Modi said before the meeting.
When asked about this, Putin said that he was glad that India was paying attention to the peace process in Ukraine. In addition to their defence ties, he said that Russia and India also collaborate on space exploration, AI, and other areas.
As part of the 23rd Russia-India Summit, both leaders spoke about their efforts to end the war in Ukraine through discussion and diplomacy. Putin also said that Russia is working on a peaceful solution to the problem.
China and India agreed to work together in the port and shipping industries on the second day of Putin’s state visit to India. This came after talks between Modi and Putin.
The 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit resulted in a joint statement saying that the two countries agreed to work together more on creating stable and effective transport corridors. They specifically agreed to focus on improving connectivity and infrastructure to support the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), the Chennai–Vladivostok (Eastern Maritime) Corridor, and the Northern Sea Route.
Modi told the joint press meeting that India and Russia had decided on an economic cooperation program that would increase trade between the two countries until 2030. This would be a big boost to their trade relations. “Our shared goal is to take the economic partnership between India and Russia to new heights,” Modi said. To get more people from Russia to visit India, Modi also said that Russian citizens will soon be able to obtain free 30-day e-tourist and group tourist visas.
Putin said something brave while the US was pressuring India to stop buying oil from Russia. He said there would be “uninterrupted shipments” of fuel to India. Russia is an honest provider of oil, gas, coal, and everything that is required for the development of India’s energy,” he said. “We are ready to continue uninterrupted shipments of fuel for the fast-growing Indian economy, he said.
Modi said at the business gathering that talks have started on a free trade agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union. Both leaders also said they want to increase trade between their countries to $100 billion by 2030, through expanded economic cooperation.
Earlier in the day, Putin also went to Rajghat to honour Mahatma Gandhi. There, he left a wreath and gave flowers. Another thing he did was sign the guest book at Rajghat.
