Big Tech and India’s best IT companies work together
Microsoft has said it will work with four of India’s largest IT services companies—Cognizant, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Wipro—to increase the use of advanced AI in the country significantly. The partnership will focus on the use of agentic artificial intelligence, a new form of AI that can act on its own and help businesses improve their operations.
Microsoft’s Copilot system is the tech company’s most important AI helper. It will be licensed to many users by each of these companies. By doing this, India will be in the middle of the big move to AI for businesses, and this is one of the most daring AI partnerships in the last few years.

What This Partnership Will Do for Indian AI
Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro will each install more than 50,000 Microsoft Copilot licenses as part of the deal. Together, these businesses are expected to use more than 200,000 licenses. Workers and clients will use these licenses to help businesses change to digital formats.
Microsoft’s Copilot tech is meant to help workers in many ways, such as finding useful information in data, automating common tasks, speeding up processes, and helping people make better choices. The partner companies want to make sales, financial, HR, shipping, and customer service more productive and efficient by making these tools a normal part of their business processes.
Now that many people use agentic AI systems, AI is being used throughout the business rather than just in a few experiments. This is part of a growing trend among Indian IT companies to use AI in their day-to-day operations rather than treating it as a separate project.
Voices from the Industry
The leaders of the four IT companies said the move was a big step forward for India’s business AI. Cognizant, which is already known as a leader in Copilot adoption, sees the relationship as a way to build on its past work and deliver more effective AI solutions to its clients around the world. Infosys wants to integrate its AI system with its own digital tools and services so people can work more automatically and flexibly.
TCS, on the other hand, is focused on using AI helpers as personal coaches for its workers while making internal systems more efficient to boost output. Wipro’s approach includes building specialised AI development centres and giving its employees access to cutting-edge tools and training so they can make the most of AI’s potential.
People from all four companies stressed that this partnership is more than just licensing; it will embed AI into systems, business thinking, and daily work across everyone involved to create new value and innovation.
A Step toward the Future of Work
This partnership with Microsoft is a sign of a bigger change in the tech world. In this new world, businesses are using AI more to help them do their work. Copilot and other agentic AI tools are more than just job helpers; they are intelligent partners that can plan, carry out, and simplify processes with little help from people.
If Indian companies used these kinds of tools, they might be able to get work done more quickly, talk to customers more, keep track of prices better, and plan their resources better. Also, it could lead to new AI-based services that Indian IT firms can provide to customers all over the world, which would make India a bigger player in the global tech market.
As AI keeps changing, agreements like this one prove that India’s tech sector is ready to be the first in AI company creation and use. This will have an impact on the future of work both in the home country and in other countries.
