Devastating news was shared earlier today that Aman Kumar Sharma—a current judge in India—was discovered dead at his residence in Delhi, with authorities suggesting he died by suicide. A formal investigation is ongoing.
Discovery of the Death
According to early reports, Judge Sharma was found at his home in a manner that raised immediate concern. Family or close friends are stated to have contacted the police due to not being able to get in touch with him. Police were on scene shortly thereafter and confirmed the death.
While initial reports point toward a suicide, investigations into the cause and manner of death—including conducting a forensic investigation and performing a postmortem—will still take place.
Police Investigation of the Incident
The Delhi police have begun an investigation into the incident. Police are thoroughly examining the scene and collecting evidence of every possible kind, such as any possible suicide note, as well as checking any electronic devices, and all forms of communication.
A police official has informed us that at this time no foul play is suspected, however, the police are investigating all aspects of the case as part of their due diligence; family members (if there are any), colleagues and domestic employees (where applicable) will all be interviewed by investigators as part of this investigation.

Judiciary Community in Shock
The apparent death of Justice Sharma has shocked members of the legal community. Colleagues and members of the bench have expressed sadness and disbelief regarding this unexpected loss of life. Again little is known about Judge Sharma’s personal life. The family of Judge Sharma is asking for privacy from everyone while they deal with their loss. Friends and associates have already created statements of sympathy for the family and described him as humble and dedicated.
