Exciting, thrilling Indo color release of action movie Dhuarundhar 2– The revenge starring Ranveer Singh, has experienced major cuts and changes to be considered suitable for viewing in cinemas across India. The Indian central censoring Board (CBFC) has issued an ‘A’ rating and permitted to be shown only after many edits were made to include approximately 6 minutes of cutting from the original film and cutting certain parts out prior to its release.
Of the cuts made, the majority were made for what was considered to be too much violence and/or inappropriate scenes for the general audience and could be seen as such by children, or young adults under age of 18. The anticipated reception of Dhuarundhar 2- The Revenge occurs with many cinema entries having sold with an opening in numerous major cities throughout India.
21 Modifications to be Approved by the CBFC Before Theatrical Release
Certification reports issued by the CBFC confirmed that they required a number of modifications totaling to around 21 separate items before approval for theatrical release in India.
The changes continue to include removed graphic visual effects scenes, changes in some of the lines spoken by the main lead actor, and the cutting of specific high volume scenes considered as excessive in their presentation of violence to the viewer. In doing so a couple of the sequences were edited down so that portions of their original length were removed. Also, specific words and dialogue within these open portions were muted/modified so as to have a “non-violent inclusion” be given to their viewers.
The censoring boards provided documentation indicating that they found the modifications necessary to ensure continued acceptable levels of violence while still allowing Dhuarundhar II to maintain its overall tone or message.

Violent scenes removed or shortened
According to many reports, graphic violence comprised most of the deleted footage. Many of the deleted scenes contained such extreme examples of violence, like a beheading, a majorly brutal cement block attack, and tearing someone’s eyes out, that they were either cut down, or completely cut out of the final film.
The features of these graphic action sequences were too explicit for theatrical viewing, regardless of the film’s rating (adult). The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has asked the filmmakers to tone down the visual intensity of violence in those scenes, and also to shorten the duration of certain shots featuring bloodshed.
In an attempt to remove the most graphic action scenes, some of the slower-paced shots will be edited to create quicker cuts/transitions, allowing the story to carry on without showing graphic violence.

Still has one of the longest running times in Indian cinema
Even with 6 minutes of footage removed, the film is still extremely long, with reports stating that it is over 3.5 hours (3 hours & 40 minutes) in length and may be one of the longest mainstream Hindi films released.
Length is also due to the scale of the film and how much there is going on throughout the entire film (multiple characters, espionage, and large-scale action).
The story of this sequel is a continuation of the story from the first part, which broke numerous box office records and grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide.
Massive buzz despite censorship
While audiences are still excited about the upcoming release of “Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge,” there have been several changes made to the movie. The Total Film and Digital Cinema trade website reported that there had been good advance bookings for preview screenings, and many film experts expect the movie to have record-breaking numbers at the box office for opening weekend.
Additionally, many experts in the film industry believe that because of the scale of this movie, the movie’s star power, and the popularity of the first installment of this movie, audiences will come out in droves to theatres to see the sequel. In addition to the large, excited audience for this movie, “Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge” will also be released as a pan-Indian movie in several different languages which will also help the movie reach a large number of viewers across the nation.
