Renowned director Rajkumar Hirani is set to unveil a brand new talent from his own bloodline into the world of film, that being his son Vir Hirani, who will appear in his first-ever series role in the new Jio digital release titled Pritam & Pedro. Rajkumar’s leap into the world of OTT (over-the-top) streaming television has generated a lot of excitement among both fans of his filmmaking style and scriptwriter/director Avinash Arun, who has helmed other critically-acclaimed series such as Paatal Lok and The Three of Us. The series will air on the Jio Hotstar platform, which is projected to begin streaming on July 3, 2026.
The story follows two men from very different backgrounds, who become embroiled in an odd mystery after a deserted ATM machine washes ashore on a beach in Goa. The idea is so far outside the box, that it has created a great deal of buzz amongst viewers and online social media channels, well ahead of the August release date.
Vir Hirani to Share Screen Space with Arshad Warsi
Vir Hirani will be making his debut in the film industry along with none other than veteran actor Arshad Warsi, who is reuniting with Rajkumar Hirani after their last successful collaboration on Lage Raho Munna Bhai. According to reports, Arshad will portray an old-school police officer while Vir plays a tech-savvy younger officer. Their differing personalities are expected to create a lot of humour and tension throughout the series.
Joining them in the cast is Vikrant Massey, further adding to the excitement about this project. Early teasers have suggested that this will be a unique combination of comedy, suspense and emotional storytelling – a formula that Hirani has perfected over many years.
