Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has issued a strong warning about the level of chaos artificial intelligence will cause. He has called it a tsunami that could completely change the way global systems work. Amodei said on a show presented by Nikhil Kamath that people are underestimating how fast and deeply AI will change things.
He says AI isn’t just another trend in technology; it’s a fundamental change that will have an impact on countries, job markets, and even the balance of power in the world. He said that many people still think of AI as a tool that can only help them get things done, even though its capabilities are growing so quickly that they could change the way societies work.
Amodei said the talk should not be only about short-term thrills, but also about long-term duty. He said that governments, businesses and institutions need to get ready for the rise of strong AI systems.
Worries are raised about the effect on jobs and skills
One important topic discussed was the future of work. Amodei agreed that many jobs are likely to be affected, especially those that involve performing the same digital tasks over and over again. People say that AI systems are quickly improving at coding and other software related tasks and may soon be able to do much of that work themselves.
He did say, though, that jobs involving making big decisions, designing complicated systems, and thinking strategically might be more stable. Still, as machines get smarter, the job market as a whole could change in big ways.
Amodei also talked about the danger of losing skills. He said that relying too much on AI tools could make people less smart and less able to think critically if they stop putting their all into jobs.
Some people disagree about how much power AI should have
A second fear that came up was that only a few big companies have AI skills. Atei agreed that the fact that a few big companies have a lot of power is scary and might be harmful.
He said that letting market forces drive AI growth might not be enough to protect the public interest. Careful rules and supervision are needed to find a balance between new ideas and safety. He said that even the biggest AI companies have to agree to use safety nets to avoid bad results.
Amodei said that Anthropic’s framework is meant to prioritize long term safety and responsible adoption over uncontrolled business growth. He said that forms of government should change as technology advances.

Start ups need to make real tools, not just fancy ones
In his talk on entrepreneurship, Amodei warned companies not to produce weak products that merely wrap existing AI models without adding anything new. He said that these kinds of methods don’t last because rivals can easily copy them as underlying models get better.
He told owners to deeply integrate AI into processes, subject matter and real-world problems. Businesses that understand both technology and the bigger picture are more likely to stay valuable over time.
Even though he has warned others, Amodei is still positive about the benefits of AI. He spoke about the prospects in fields including healthcare, research and economic development. He made it obvious that these benefits would only come about if people are responsible and pay attention to AI’s growth.
He said that market forces alone can’t take care of duty. “We support regulating AI even though it hurts our business,” he said, adding that rules shouldn’t just be based on how competitors act. Besides that, he said that Anthropic’s management system was made to match business goals with safety concerns.
