The White House has announced that U.S. President Donald Trump will receive his annual physical and dental checkup on Thursday, May 26, 2026 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland. Each checkup will include the same types of basic routine checks that President Trump normally undergoes as part of his preventative health care program.
The announcement coincides with a period of extreme public and political scrutiny of President Trump’s health and fitness to serve in office. White House representatives have repeatedly stated that this is a routine checkup and not the result of an acute illness.
Visit Will Include Time With Military Staff
Not only will President Trump have one of his annual physical evaluations, but afterwards he will likely spend some time thanking military members and medical personnel at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for their dedication to our country.
Walter Reed was established to provide medical care for U.S. Presidents since its creation. President Trump has visited Walter Reed many times during his presidency both for regular check-ups and consultations.

President’s Health Draws Increased Attention
As visible bruising on the President’s hands and swelling around his ankles have been evident during public appearances over the past few months, interest in his being has risen sharply since those incidents occurred.
According to a spokeswoman at The White House, because President is on an aspirin regimen as a cardiovascular health measure, the bruising on the President’s hands is attributed to having had a lot of people shaking hands with President frequently when he was in public.
According to the White House, several physicians who treated President Donald J. Trump have theorized that chronic venous insufficiency (a condition that causes foot/ankle swelling) may be an underlying cause of the swollen left foot of President Donald J. Trump. The White House has uniformly stated that regardless of physician predictions, the President remains in “excellent” health as demonstrated through numerous examinations; that he “has done well in cognition tests” in all prior evaluations; and therefore is still “fit for duty” to serve as President.
