Hyderabad is projected to be the first city in the world to have a road named after the former U.S. President Donald Trump, with the Telangana government declaring plans to rename several key streets after world political and technology companies. The relocation, according to the officials, is meant to make the state a center of the so-called India of innovation and enhance the global business presence.
The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed that the road located along the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad will most likely be named after Donald Trump officially as Donald Trump Avenue. The renaming proposal will be forwarded to the Union Ministry of External Affairs and U.S. Embassy to have the chance of consultation.

Road Renamings Aim to Boost Global Branding
The government is also strategizing a large-scale renaming program to honour international business leaders and multinational technology companies with a long-term relationship with the city. Authorities indicate that the names will capture the emergence of Hyderabad as one of the major global technology hubs.
The proposed greenfield radial road to be constructed between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Raviryal and the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) will be called the Ratan Tata Interchange, with the interchange at Raviryal already renamed the Tata Interchange.
These names are intended to promote Hyderabad as the symbol of modern infrastructure, international relations, and technology-based development according to the state government.

A “Google Street” and New Corporate Landmarks
The most recognizable suggestion is that of the so-called Google Street, a central area that will be placed next to the future Hyderabad campus of the U.S. internet giant, which will be its biggest office space outside the country. The road is supposed to acknowledge the international presence of the Google products and Google Maps in particular, as well as the long history of the corporation being a part of the Hyderabad tech scene.
Similarly, places that are related to Microsoft and Wipro will soon be named after the companies as the Microsoft Road and Wipro Junction, according to the authorities involved in the planning. Hyderabad is the home to some of the most strategic technology facilities in the two companies.
Government to Inform U.S. Embassy
The authorities stated that they will send an official notification to the U.S. Embassy and the central government regarding the proposed naming of Donald Trump Avenue. The state government has observed that suggestions regarding naming were received warmly at U.S.-India business forums held this year.
The Chief Minister had just presented at the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) in New Delhi, where he suggested identifying major public infrastructure projects named after global firms with headquarters in the United States. According to the officials, the initiative has been packaged as a gesture of friendship and an invitation to increased investment flows into Telangana.

Local and International Response Awaited
The proposal should receive significant national and international coverage not only due to the polarising international presence of Donald Trump but also because this would be the first occasion that a government has named a public road after him.
Although the U.S. diplomatic representatives are still responding to the news, it has already sparked debates on online platforms regarding the issue of state branding, geopolitical messages, and how Telangana has been making continuous attempts to sell itself as an investment destination to the world.
Telangana is poised to build one of the most corporate-brand cityscapes in India with Donald Trump Avenue, Ratan Tata Road, Google Street, and other company names marked on the map.
