Starlink is a satellite internet service owned by SpaceX, which Elon Musk runs. The company has officially announced the price of its monthly plan for people in India. The company wants to bring high-speed internet to areas with few resources. After months of legal progress and practical preparations, the company is planning a bigger move into the country’s communications market.

The Starlink India page shows the subscription price and benefits
The Starlink India website was updated to show the cost of the residential plan. The membership costs ₹8,600 per month, and the hardware kit you need costs ₹34,000 one-time. The deal includes unlimited internet and a 30-day trial for new users.
Starlink says its system is built to work in any weather and is designed to deliver more than 99.9% uptime. The business has also stressed how easy it is to set up, saying that customers have to plug in the equipment to start using the link. These features are designed to be especially appealing to families and towns that have only restricted or unreliable internet service. The business tier has not yet been introduced.
The Business access tier still doesn’t have any public information, but the Residential plan price has been made public. As the company finalises its launch plans and continues discussions with relevant officials, it is expected to outline its business offerings in the coming weeks.
Hiring drive suggests a solid growth plan
Starlink’s goals in India are also evident in its latest hiring. SpaceX posted on LinkedIn in late October that it had four open positions at its Bengaluru office. The offered positions included Tax Manager, Payments Manager, Accounting Manager, and Senior Treasury Analyst.
The job ads said the hiring drive was Part of Starlink’s plan to expand its business worldwide. SpaceX also plans to build ground stations in several Indian towns to keep the network stable and improve service quality before a full launch, according to reports.
Musk said earlier this month that Starlink, the company’s satellite internet network, is still making a lot of progress towards its goal of providing reliable and cheap internet access to people all over the world. Musk said the program is becoming more popular worldwide on the People by WTF show, where he spoke with Nikhil Kamath, who helped start Zerodha.
He was also sure that Starlink could be brought to India and said that expanding into the country would be a big step towards the company’s goal of providing internet access to areas with poor service.
Musk’s words suggest that Starlink may enter the Indian market, where many rural and remote areas still lack effective internet access.
