The mid-range scene will never be the same again with Honor is about to launch the successor of its battery-centric “Power” line soon! The next-gen Honor Power 2 appears on Geekbench to reveal possible MediaTek upgrade From what we’ve heard, the forthcoming device goes under the moniker Honor Power 2. It’s not just the internals that people are excited about however – leaked renders have suggested that Honor is taking serious design inspiration from a certain tech behemoth in Cupertino.
The Honor Power 2, which is set to launch globally in January 2026, will be the endurance champ to end all endurance champs with a capacity that up until now was limited to chunky outdoor granite phones.
Performance: First Look at The Dimensity 8500 SoC
The latest tabled device from Honor has just emerged on the Geekbench 6 database known as Saber akin to the code-name. The listing gives us a good look at what to expect from the device, which is different than just using a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 like on its predecessor.
- Benchmark Results: The device scored 1709 points in the single-core and 6532 point in multi-core tests(case sensitive). These scores imply the Dimensity 8500 will be a significant improvement over the Dimensity 8400, leading to almost flagship-worthy performance for daily operations and gaming.
- Memory and Software: The tested model carried a 12GB low end and was shown running Android 16, which, presumably will be covered up by Honor’s fresh MagicOS 10.
Design: A “Pro” Appearance
Its internal specs may be impressive, but the leaked design has fueled intense social media debate. Honor Power 2 Leaked Renders Based on the renders shared by trusted Weibo tipsters, the Honor Power 2 will feature an iPhone 17 Pro-like rear design.
Device is said to come with a triple-camera setup and that it will be available in a square housing, which if we go by last month’s leak then the cameras are aligned in a triangular alignment within a module. The very existence of the alleged “Sunrise Orange” hero color resembles the high-end finishes that we’ve come to expect with Apple’s Pro lineup. It’s this look that Honor is obviously aiming to achieve in going with this particular aesthetic, creating a mid-range smartphone that is visually much more expensive than it is.
On the front, it is expected to sport a 6.79-inch 1.5K LTPS OLED flat screen. Even if it doesn’t have the LTPO technology of ultra-flagships, according to rumors it will be able to manage a high refresh rate of 120Hz, so its screen should have plenty of smoothness for scrolling and consuming media.
The 10,000mAh “Titan” Battery
Of course, the Honor Power 2’s biggest sell is its massive 10,080mAh battery. Honor is using advanced Silicon-Carbon (Si-C) battery technology, which enables higher energy density. That’s handy because it allows such devices to cram a bloomin’ huuuuge capacity battery in a frame that remains reasonably slim (apparently up to 8.49mm).
- Extra-long Battery Life: 10000mAh could be expected to run about 3-4days which is longer than other portable charger of this capacity.
- Rapid Recovery: Compatible to get you back on your feet – day or night, at home or in the office – with 80W fast charging. There’s no word on wireless charging support, but the high-speed wired charging is a notable jump up from the original Honor Power’s 66W.
Camera and Multimedia
But this is not to say that the optics are being completely neglected by Honor despite being a battery oriented device. Power 2 has been rumored to feature a good camera config strictly for social media-friendly shots:
- Primaty Sensor: The rear side is dominated by a 50-megapixel primary lens (most likely has OIS).
- Secondary Sensors: Likely standard 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and basic macro or depth sensor.
- Selfie camera: 16-megapixel front-facing sensor in a hole-punch notch in the middle of the screen.

Expected Price and Launch Timeline
The Power 2 is likely to be unveiled in China come January 2026, just before the Spring Festival. Launch in India and global should not be too far off, considering we’re already in the first quarter of 2019.
With a mix of “iPhone Pro” buzz and a groundbreaking 10,000mAh battery while introducing the Dimensity 8500, the Honor Power 2 is on track to become one of the most exciting mid-ranger phones of this year.
