Reasons for Demanding Resignation
The significance of CJP’s demand for Pradhan’s resignation is linked to several alleged failures of the Indian education system. CJP has highlighted the alleged NEET-UG-2026 leak, the alleged corruption found in On-Screen Marking (OSM) by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as well as the recent breaches of JEE Advanced candidate data.
The leaders of the CJP state that the events have damaged students’ faith in examination authorities and put into doubt the integrity and safety of the examination process. They also assert that, have there been repeated failures under the same government, then there must be ministerial responsibility.

Many Students Supporting the Campaign
Numerous students throughout the nation are supporting this movement. According to CJP records, over 800,000 students have signed an online petition calling for the resignation of the Minister. CJP believes that the large number of signers indicates that there is widespread unhappiness with educational administration and examination management today.
The movement has gained much is due to its strength within social media. A blatant online initiative, has quickly transformed into a national conversation about educational reform, testing security and quality of employment opportunities for youth in this country, and has reached millions of followers on various digital platforms.
Minister of Education has had no direct response as yet from the Government
Currently there is no official response from MoE (Ministry of Education) regarding the resignation of Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. However Minister Pradhan is facing continuous scrutiny regarding the management and evaluation of exams throughout the country as a result of the recent examination management issues.
As stated by leaders of the CJP, they are still open to dialogue with both Government and Opposition political parties; however, they also believe that accountability needs to be put into place, and the relocation of Government employees across different areas of responsibility will not address the long-term challenges facing our educational systems.
Warning of Nationwide Agitation
CJP also issued a 7 day notice to the Government to respond to its demands following the Jantar Mantar protest. The CJP has stated that if no response from the Government is received, it will widen its agitation efforts across the country as being only a beginning for the objection described by CJP’s leaders against educational reform & accountability efforts.
Protesters support the protest as a vital display of concern among all students. Others claim that a resignation of one minister is not enough to change a system. But there is no question that the protest has brought forth ideas about examination integrity, transparency of systems used to evaluate students, and the welfare of students to the forefront of public discourse.
Conclusion
The protests of student activists, led by the CJP, represent a major turning point for students in India. By demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the protest has highlighted a systemic lack of examination security, evaluation systems, and accountability among administrators in higher education. Regardless of if the government makes any changes in response to these demands the protests will serve to increase the discussion concerning the future of Education Systems in India and the need for increased transparency of institutions that impact the lives of the millions of students they serve.
