A daycare centre operating inside Capgemini’s HAL campus in Bengaluru has come under investigation after allegations of severe abuse involving toddlers surfaced. Police have registered a case against five women caregivers, while Capgemini has announced the temporary closure of the on-campus childcare facility as authorities investigate the incident.
Five Caregivers Face Police Case
Police have filed a case against five women caregivers accused of subjecting children aged between two and three years to inhuman punishment at the Bengaluru daycare centre.
According to an official, the alleged acts included forcing toddlers to sit inside the drum of a front-loading washing machine, spraying water into their mouths using a toilet jet spray, and locking them inside bathrooms when they cried.
The official said:
“The toddlers were made to sit in washing machines, water was sprayed into their mouths and they were locked inside bathrooms to silence them when they cried.”

Videos of Alleged Abuse Trigger Investigation
Videos purportedly showing the alleged abuse have circulated widely on social media, prompting legal action.
Apart from the police complaint, a separate complaint has also been submitted to the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights.

Parents Express Concern Over Child Safety

Capgemini Temporarily Closes Daycare Facility
Following the allegations, Capgemini announced that the Bengaluru on-campus daycare centre would be temporarily shut as a precaution.
In its statement, the company said:
“Capgemini’s foremost priority is the health, safety and well-being of its employees and their families. We are cooperating fully with the relevant authorities and assisting them in their efforts to establish the facts. As a precautionary measure, we are temporarily closing the Bengaluru on-campus daycare facility.”
Authorities Continue Investigation
Police and the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights are examining the allegations following the complaints and the circulation of the purported videos.
