Mohini Ekadashi represents one of the greatest spiritual energies of any Ekadashi (eleventh day of the lunar fortnight – this particular one is celebrated in the waxing period of the moon of the Hindu month of Vaishakha) and is associated with Lord Vishnu in His form of Mohini.
Mohini Ekadashi (27 April 2026)
The description of how Mohini came to be is described in the scriptures of Hinduism. When Vishnu took on this form, it was at the time of the Samudra Manthan (the churning of the ocean) where the purpose was to obtain Amrit (elixir of immortality) for the gods. A protective moonlight fell upon her which acted as an illumination through which the gods were able to see her beauty and accept the nectar; the demons were also able to see her beauty and try to claim the nectar. Thus, this event marked the triumph of wisdom over ignorance and righteousness over deceitful acts.

Significance
The observance of Mohini Ekadashi can wash away sins, clear an individual`s mind and help them be directed toward moksha (final liberation). There are many specific benefits attributed to observing Mohini Ekadashi including overcoming attachment, confusion and past karmic burdens.
How to Celebrate/How to Observe Mohini Ekadashi?

- During the day you will spend time doing the following: Chanting, Reading and/or listening to stories.
- You might want to visit a temple dedicated to Vishnu, although this is not necessary to observe Ekadashi.
