It has been said that during recent missile attacks on Israel, letters were etched into missiles fired by Iran’s government to show appreciation for India’s support for Iran or for their assistance to Iran with their current conflict against Israel, by writing a message of ‘thank you’ to the Indian people on the missiles.
Moreover, it has also been indicated that other countries, including Germany, were referenced to suggest how Iran views these countries as showing solidarity and providing support from a more worldwide perspective.
Continued Conflict Between Iran And Israel
Iran’s latest short-range artillery/missile strikes against Israel in a series of retaliatory missile strikes have been unprecedented in the amount and capability of the missiles used against Israel during previous weeks of exchanges of missiles for the past weeks. Iran has fired at least thousands of its missiles at many targets across Israel; however Iran has intercepted or destroyed a great many of its own missiles over many of the same targets.
Many of these missile strikes involving Israeli targets have resulted in injuries to some innocent victims and a great deal of property damage to the Israeli economy.

Symbolism or Military Objective?
Some experts believe that “Thank You, India” is more of a symbolic gesture to send a message to the world about Iran than a military statement with an operational purpose.
There is evidence that Iran is using these statements as part of their strategy to convey a positive image of themselves and to gain support from countries whose public opinion is sympathetic to them.
Displaying messages on weapons for political or psychological reasons outside of the battlefield is not common practice, but there have been examples of both sides in a conflict using this method to send political or psychological messages.
India’s Stance
India has always tried to remain neutral and measured in its position on the Iran-Israel conflict. India has advocated for dialogue and de-escalation rather than supporting either side openly.
The fact that Indian missiles were displayed by Iran does not mean that India supports Iran; it shows how some countries view geopolitics and the resultant worldwide opinion towards Iran.

Ripple Effect Across the Region
The continuing conflict has created further instability in the Middle East through continued attacks and civilian casualties, as well as growing humanitarian problems caused by attacks from Israel, Hezbollah, and all other actors involved.
Although Israel and its allies have conducted routine military operations against Iran (the latter being a major supplier of weapons to terrorist groups), Iranians enjoy a very large and capable missile force at their disposal, and therefore they will continue to launch attacks and further the Iran-Israel conflict.

Conclusion
The India ‘Thank You’ statement illustrates modern warfare’s trend toward blurring the lines between military operations and symbolic communication. As such, it serves to provide publicity about the occasion of the attack, while also highlighting the complexity of the geopolitical messages that govern the Iran-Israel conflict (and any official alliances).
