Public Concerns over Neighbor’s Long Absences Lead to Police Investigation
The neighbours of Mr Baig had developed numerous concerns as a result of his extended absence from their vicinity. Because of their growing concern regarding the odour emanating from the dwelling of Mr. Baig, located in the Lokhandwala complex of Andheri West, Mumbai, they contacted the authorities to report their concerns, causing them to force entry into the property.
Upon gaining entry to the property, police officers found Mr. Baig to be deceased and subsequently notified his daughter, who resides outside of India, of his passing. Mr. Baig’s body was transferred to Cooper Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
A police accidental death report (ADR) was created and at this stage, preliminary investigation results indicate there is no reason to think that M.M. Baig’s death was caused by any criminal activity and that his death appears to be from natural causes.
