More than ten schools in the capital received bomb threats early this morning (February 9, 2026) and as a result the authorities have started working immediately to ensure everyone’s safety. The schools began receiving emails alerting them to the bomb threats betwBomb threat emails received to three Ahmedabad schools; police teams sent.een 8:30-9:00 am, around the time school starts. Because of this, students, parents and staff all have been concerned about their safety.
Evacuations and security sweeps are ongoing at all affected schools in Delhi as soon as the bomb threat was received by school authorities and safety evacuations were initiated for students and staff. Delhi Fire Services (DFS) personnel confirmed that fire trucks, bomb disposal teams, and canine units have been dispatched to all affected schools in Delhi. Major search efforts are being performed at all facilities to locate any bomb or other suspicious items but thus far there have been no reports of explosives found at any of the schools.
The threatening emails arrived to eight different schools throughout Delhi. The email that has been circulated on social media lists the following schools as part of the threatening email.
- Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantonment
- Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri and New Friends Colony
- Venkateshwar School, Rohini
- CM School and Bal Bharati School, Rohini
- The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar
- DTA School, INA
The emails warned that “Delhi is about to become Khalistan” and in addition to this phrase, they also mentioned a “potential bomb explosion in Parliament building at 1:11 p.m.” on 13th of February. However, none of the above mentioned information has been confirmed by investigatory agencies as of yet.
Nature of the Threat Emails Raise an Alarm
Certain versions of these emails contained inflammatory language that centred around Khalistan and the legacy of Afzal Guru therefore the emails suggest an underlying political or ideological motive for sending them out. Law enforcement agencies who have received the emails are attempting to determine how the emails and subsequent threats fit into the larger investigation into the source and intent of the threats.

Investigating Agencies and Police Are Investigating the Origin of The Emails
Delhi police and intelligence units are investigating who may have sent the emails. The agencies are investigating the header information, IP address information, and any connection to any previous false bomb threat emails that have targeted similar institutions located in Delhi. At this time the above mentioned threats are uncorroborated but they may be part of a repeating pattern of disruptive false bomb threat emails.
Repeated Pattern of Similar False Bomb Threats
Delhi has experienced a pattern of false bomb threat emails sent to Delhias city schools during the last few years. Most of these emails were later confirmed to be false after investigations were completed. The sent emails have led to the evacuation of these institutions, interrupted their education programs, and created a high state of alert among law enforcement agencies, although no explosives were ever found at any of the earlier event locations.

Officials have stressed that the safety of students is their first priority, and all adequate precautions and checks have been taken to ensure this student safety. Parents and school communities are asked to remain calm while the investigation proceeds.
