LIVE Updates on the Launch of Tata Sierra 2025 in India: The famous Sierra is coming back to the Indian market, and Tata Motors’ passenger car division is getting ready to go up against well-known brands from both India and around the world. The all-new Sierra is meant to compete with popular midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
It combines nostalgic design with cutting-edge engineering and technology. The SUV is being launched today with an internal combustion engine (ICE). An electric version based on Tata’s Acti. EV design will be available soon.

About Tata Sierra 2025
The new Sierra is a high-end lifestyle SUV that looks a lot like the first Sierra from the 1990s. It has a tall stance and a signature Alpine-style glass part at the back. The flush-fit door handles, full-width LED lighting elements, and blacked-out C-pillar give it a sleek, modern look. When you step inside, you’ll find a high-tech cabin with three displays, a 12-speaker JBL audio system with an integrated soundbar, and high-end features like dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS capability.

Tata Sierra Design 2025: Reimagining a Classic
Tata Motors had a hard time bringing the Sierra back to life because of how people felt about the brand. Tata has come up with a style that stays true to its roots while also being truly modern and high-end.
How Many Numbers Matter
- Length: 4340 mm Width: 1841 mm Height: 1715 mm Space between the legs: 205 mm
- Water Wading Capacity: 450mm
- It’s about the same size as other SUVs in the same class, like the Creta and Seltos. But the Sierra looks bigger and wider, so it will stand out more on the road.
- The Sierra’s 19-inch metal wheels are the biggest in its class, making it look like a bigger SUV. This gives it a strong, straight stance.
- Door handles that fit flush have lights that make them easy to find at night. On the other hand, they don’t have motors like the XUV700.
See more pictures of the difference between the old and new Sierras here. The new Sierra does not have an extra wheel on the trunk as the old one did. Putting the wheel there would mean that the trunk would open from the side, and the door would be heavy, which would make it less useful.
Small Details:
- The wide LED daytime running lamp is made of a single piece. It is also the biggest DRL that has ever been put on an Indian-made commercial car.
- The front end of the Sierra EV is different from the front end of the gasoline-diesel version.
Interesting Fact:
- A wide B-pillar trim, big windows, and gloss black paint on the roof give the back of the car a “Alpine Window” look. For safety reasons, a single piece of glass wasn’t used.
- Like high-end cars, you can’t see any rubber beading under the windows. The fit and finish of the Sierra is better than expected.
Tata Sierra Interior: A Lounge Feeling
Tata Motors has worked hard to make the design look clean and simple. The inside feels high-end, like in cars that are in a higher price range. Based on the model you choose, the inside looks different, just like with other Tata cars.
One kind of panel has three screens, and the other kind only has two. Here is the link to the shorter version of this story.
It looks nice with the light colors, but they will be hard to clean. We wish it came with a darker color scheme for the inside.
Many things are brand new in the Sierra. The headlamp/wiper stalks, power window controls, buttons, and switches for the Terrain modes, and other changes make it feel very different.
The four-spoke steering wheel, the touchscreen for the climate control, the inside rearview mirror, and the gear shift are all common to other Tata cars.
Tata Sierra Space and Bootspace
We checked out the back seat room when the Sierra was first shown off. It was comfortable for people up to 6 feet tall. There is enough space between the seats for three people to sit comfortably, and there is plenty of air even if you wear a hat.
The Sierra is an SUV with five seats. There are no plans for a Sierra seven-seater right now. The stated trunk room is 622 liters, based on how high the roof is. It has a large parking area that is set at a level height. There is also a 60:40 split feature for more options. This is a great place to put 4-5 cabin-sized rolling bags.
The Sierra style is bold on the inside and out, making it stand out. You can be sure that this SUV will make you stand out and draw attention to yourself. Now all that’s left is for Tata to provide a good sales and after-sales experience.
