For years, Motorola has been the king of the mid-range and the first to reintroduce a modern foldable. And yet today the story changed. Announced at CES 2026, the all-new Motorola Signature is a splashy debut in the ultra-premium realm. It’s not just another smartphone; it is a carefully orchestrated statement piece meant to stand toe-to-toe with the very best from Apple and Samsung.
With an ultra-thin profile thin (6.99 mm) and light weight at just 186 grams, the Motorola Signature is crafted out of aircraft-grade aluminum and features a distinctive linen-inspired “twill” texture on the back. It’s a gadget that looks and feels as much like a high-end fashion accessory as it does a piece of cutting-edge tech.
The Powerhouse: Snapdragon 8 Gen 5
The primary chip inside the Motorola Signature is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. This isn’t just a fast processor—it’s also about what Apple is doing behind the scenes that matches its “intelligence” marketing. Built on a 3nm process, all that performance doesn’t necessarily mean worse battery life; in fact, industry insiders claim it could actually mean better battery life with the same size but with room for something like an even bigger battery unit. Paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a whopping 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, this is a phone made for the power user who won’t settle for anything less.
Motorola has also introduced a new Moto AI experience that’s more baked into the OS. Be it “Catch Me Up” (a rundown of notifications you missed) or translation on the go, courtesy of Gemini Live, the Signature leverages that Gen 5 performance to ensure your smart experience feels anticipatory instead of reactionary.
Mobile Photography New Chapter: 50MP Quad Camera
Motorola has long been derided for poor camera processing, but the Signature is here to prove a point. It has a never-before seen Quad 50-megapixel camera system on board, all integrated with stunning Sony LYTIA sensors.
The LYT-828 flagship sensor will be the dedicated one to provide low-light excellence, thanks to the assistance of a periscope lens which would do wonders even at a distance. This configuration has already received the DXOMARK Gold Label (gotta catch ‘em all, right?), a worldʼs first for an ultra-thin phone.
Display and Battery: Beauty that Lasts
The device’s front is largely a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display. It’s a looker, with a 165Hz refresh rate and an insane peak brightness of 6,200 nits — keeping everything perfectly visible even under the brightest afternoon sun. The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and includes “Water Touch” tech, allowing it to respond even when your fingers are wet.
And though it’s 6.99mm thin, Motorola hasn’t cut down the battery. The phone boasts a high-density 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery which promises over 50 hours of life. If you do get low, a 7 minute charge using the included 90W TurboPower charger will score you up to a day’s power. It has a 50W wireless charging support as well, and it also supports reverse wireless charging for your Moto Buds.
