For value-minded users who prioritize long battery life over flashy gimmickry, Motorola’s “Power” series has been the gold standard for years. As we enter the 2026 smartphone cycle, the recently announced Moto G Power (2026) doubles down on that reputation with an unexpected new twist of ruggedness.

Announced in December 2025 and available from the market on January 8th, 2026, this OnePlus 50T is designed to sit between an average mid-range and a literal “workhorse” of a phone that survives every day incidents life throws at it.
Unleashing the new standard for durability: Gorilla Glass 7i and IP69
Maybe the most surprising feature on a phone priced at $300 is just how damn tough it is. Instead of a delicate build design that is common in most budget devices, Motorola opted for a MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification. This means the device can withstand drops, extreme temperatures and heavy vibrations.
And, the Moto G Power (2026) is also rated IP68 and IP69. IP68 we’ve seen before, but and IP69 rating is a rare one-it means protection against high-pressure, high-temperature water jets. Rounded out by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display, this phone is for folks who live or work outside or are just somewhat plagued by cracked screens.
Screen and performance: Bump-free, water-like smoothness for 5G
The phone’s heart is still the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, that trusted chip from its predecessor, but on the visual side of things there’s been quite a bit of cosmetic surgery. The phone now features a 6.8-inch Full HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. At 1,000 nits peak brightness it’s a real game changer for outdoor visibility, something that has been a real sticking point for the G Power series in the past.
As far as software goes, the Moto G Power (2026) is one of the first in its price range to come with Android 16. Motorola’s “Hello UX” is clean and close to stock, save for some useful sprinklings like Smart Connect, which we’ve seen before and permits drag-and-drop file sharing between PCs and tablets.

Battery Beast Now with 5200mAh Pack
The “Power” moniker has always been about multi-day battery life and the 2026 variant of this device pushes that further with a 5200mAh battery. It’s apparently capable of lasting a staggering 48 hours on a single charge, according to Motorola.
Though it is a compromise — and some fans are grousing over the loss of wireless charging — the battery got bigger. As a consolation, Motorola is fitting 30W TurboPower wired charging that offers you “hours of power in minutes.” It’s a definitive signal that Motorola wants this phone to be about raw utility and fast turnarounds, not sitting around charging slowly.

Motorola also improved the optics for the sensor, doing away with “filler” lenses. The main 50MP shooter now has OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) which makes shooting at night and taking video a game-changer. On the back is an 8MP ultra-wide lens, which also works as a macro camera for extreme close up shots.
The selfie camera has also been bumped significantly to 32MP, now using Quad Pixel technology for better performance in low light. The gallery is full of AI-driven features such as Auto Night Vision and Google’s Magic Eraser, so the G Power (2026) performs well into its flash module’s bout grade.
