Celina Jaitly, an actress and former beauty queen, has received two legal notices from her estranged husband, Peter Haag, and his father, Dr. Wolfgang J. Haag. This is a recent development in the couple’s ongoing dispute regarding their marriage and custody of their children. The notices allege that Jaitly has made defamatory and misleading statements through interviews, social media, and other media outlets in India and overseas.
Fresh Legal Twist in High-Profile Dispute
At present, there are also ongoing legal proceedings between the former couple in Austria, involving issues related to their divorce and child custody. The Haag family’s legal representatives have stated that the purpose of the notices is to protect the reputation, privacy, and welfare of the family and, in particular, of their minor children.

What Do the Legal Notices Say?
According to various sources, the legal notices indicate that many of Jaitly’s public statements have made false, scandalous, and defamatory assertions about Peter Haag and his family. The Haag family’s legal representatives claim that Jaitly’s statements have been extensively circulated via various media outlets and have damaged the reputation of the Haag family and drawn significantly more media attention to what the Haag family considers to be a private family situation.
Dr. Wolfgang J. Haag reportedly issued one of the notices, acting as the paternal grandfather of the children involved. The second notice was sent by Peter Haag, in a personal capacity, but also as a concerned father regarding the welfare of the children.

Call for a Public Apology
According to the notices sent out, Jaitly and the Haag family are requesting that he publicly apologize and remove any of the material that they consider to be defamatory. They have also indicated that they will pursue further legal action should their demands not be met within the specified time period. The Haag family has indicated that they refrained from publicly discussing the matter for some time, with hopes that this matter would only be resolved through legal means and that it would not become a media spectacle.
The legal representatives of all parties involved in this matter have advised that the issue is currently under the jurisdiction of the Courts in Austria. Any public discussion about this matter could affect the progress of the Court proceedings and/or any of the parties’ ability to maintain a positive relationship with their children.

History – Domestic Violence Allegations
These latest breach of contract notices were received by Mr. Haag and Dr. Haag, shortly after the actress filed her complaints against Peter Haag in India. Earlier this year, Jaitly filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police. The complaint resulted in a major increase in the parties’ legal dispute.
Jaitly has previously claimed both on the public record and in social forums that she has been emotionally, verbally, physically and financially abused during her marriage, as well as isolated from her children due to the difficult custody arrangements.
The actress also regularly posts via social media and provides interviews about her own personal struggles, often bringing attention to issues that many women face in abusive relationships. In fact, more recently she was quoted talking about hidden aspects of domestic violence in relation to a separate case involving a woman who died. Peter Haag and his family denied any of the allegations that were made against them.
In his statement issued through legal representatives, Haag stated that the allegations that have been made in public forums are unverified and damaging to his family; therefore, those allegations have unfairly damaged the Haag family’s reputation and have created unnecessary public scrutiny.
The Haag family has continued to assert that the appropriate venue for resolution of this dispute is the courts, not the media. They are also concerned about the effect of continued media discussion regarding this case could have on the emotional health and privacy of the children.
Legal Battle Continues
Celina Jaitly and Peter Haag are currently embroiled in ongoing legal battles in India and Austria. Jaitly continues to pursue her claims through the courts but it appears that the Haag family has also issued a number of notices indicating they will defend themselves against any alleged defamatory statements made by Jaitly.
As both parties continue to assert their respective rights, the public continues to take an interest in this matter due to the various issues raised including issues of privacy, character, and the effect of high-profile divorce cases on children and families. Presently, the case is still sub-judice and additional developments are likely while this legal action continues.
