With gratitude and warmth, actress Karishma Tanna has welcomed motherhood and recently celebrated her Tulu-style baby shower ceremony in an intimate setting with her husband Varun Bangera (they are expecting their first child later this year).
A Joyous New Chapter for Karishma and Varun
Karishma shared sweet snippets of the ceremony on her social media accounts, leading it to rapidly gain traction as one of the popular talking points on social media sites. With elegant traditional attire and family and friends present, the entire couple looked very happy to celebrate this special milestone in their lives as they await for the arrival of their baby.
Traditional Tulu Rituals at the Centerpiece of the Celebration
What set this event apart from others is the rich heritage behind it’s Tulu culture, which is considered a coastal region in Karnataka of India. As Varun is from an Mangalorean family, he honored his heritage by having a traditional “Godh Bharai” ceremony that included all the sacred elements through rituals, chants, decorative flowers and blessings from family members.
In her emotional and heartfelt note following this event, Karishma described the experience as “magical” and was extremely overwhelmed with joy from having witnessed each aspect of the Tulu ceremony connected to them closely to their dream of becoming parents. In particular, she noted how each ritual was filled with warmth, kindness and love toward them.
According to reports, the ceremony is said to have included devotional songs and poojas, traditional saree attire, as well as blessings from the elders of the family, which helped create a very rich cultural and emotional atmosphere.

Karishma’s Beautifully Traditional Appearance Stole The Show
Karishma’s traditional attire at the celebration also received a significant amount of attention on social media. She wore a beautiful pastel-hued saree design with a gold accent, and lots of beautiful gold jewellery and floral accessories, all of which incorporated the festive South Indian theme very nicely.
Fans were resoundingly complimentary of her glamorous look, and also appreciated the way she fully embraced the traditional cultural practices. Varun chose to go with a much more understated but extremely classic look in a white kurta which he paired very well with all of the rituals and celebrations he and his wife participated in together. One of the video clips shared from the ceremony which really captured the hearts of many was the clip of Varun kissing Karishma on the forehead, and it brought tears to the eyes of many fans.
Fans also expressed their joy in the comments section on social media by using words/phrases such as: “dreamy,” ”heartwarming,” ”full of positivity,” etc., in reference to the celebration.

Couple Preparing For Their Baby’s Arrival
The couple initially announced that they are expecting a baby with an adorable social media post with black baseball caps saying “Mom” and “Dad” on them. The announcement was well-received by fans and everyone else who works in the entertainment industry.
The newly married couple is going to become parents! Having got married in February 2022 after dating for a while, baby is due August 2026. The couple’s latest celebration is evidence of not only their excitement for being parents, but also how they are blending their family traditions with what is important to each of them.
