The newly established Oggy Janta Party (OJP) has officially launched and will act as the main competitor to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) by announcing its entry into the political arena Friday in front of thousands of supporters waving blue and white flags at a packed rally who were shouting out the words “peace, order, and clean governance.” There are now many signs of life in the city’s rapidly changing political environment.
A New Political Rivalry Takes Shape
Analysts have said this is only the first step in what will be one of the most interesting and fun political competitions seen in recent years. A party founded upon “survival instinct and strategic thinking,” CJP has maintained its approach to politics as always. The OJP, on the other hand, is built on the principles of “honesty and simplicity,” and represents public welfare.
The founder of the OJP, Oggy, spoke from a specially created platform to make the announcement and promised “a new era of stabilization, trickery-free living and no further chaos” will happen in his party. “Nuisance politics have worn us down,” he declared. “The people want to have a government that is open, that allows its citizens to grow and live in a peaceful environment.”

Why the New Party Was Formed?
The leaders of OJP say that OJP was created in reaction to dissatisfaction with the CJP’s approach to governing. The CJP has been accused of creating confusion, fostering disruptive behaviour and providing entertainment to distract from providing effective governance.
Public disorder, pranks and failed civic projects associated with CJP have been causes of frustration for citizens in recent months. According to OJP, these recent events demonstrate the need for a political alternative that is capable of providing responsible governing. According to senior OJP member Jack, the purpose of the OJP is to “create balance in the political system”.
Jack said, “For too long, individuals in this community have suffered from mischief and chaos. We are not just opposing the CJP; we are supporting the people that are demanding peace and prosperity.”

CJP Reaction
The CJP has issued a sharp response to the announcement of OJP, denigrating OJP as an “emotional response without real political experience.”
CJP spokesperson Dee Dee claimed in a statement that critics of the CJP do not appreciate the “creative and energetic leadership” style of the CJP.
The Cockroach Janta Party has made clear there is general appeal for excitement, innovation and unpredictability in the forms of excitement, innovation and unpredictability and their position in the landscape has always been focused on adaptability to survive with governance based on strategies. In the eyes of the opposition they lack a proper vision.
Other senior members of the CJP did nothing short of ridicule the launch event for what they were calling the OJP, instead stating that OJP will collapse suddenly once they are faced with their first legitimate roadblock.
Regardless, analysts on the political side feel the ruling party has actually under estimated the extent of the emotional appeal Oggy has reached with the general public.
Public Sentiment Separation
There appears to be marked division on the topic of the introduction of the new party, but generally it seems like the youth of today appear very enthusiastic about the potential of the OJP because they describe it in social media as being “a current and relatable movement.” The residents who attended the rally were stated to be most excited about the OJP’s promises of affordable food, cleaner neighborhoods and increased response to public disturbances.
A supporter of the OJP was quoted as saying, “I just want a place to live without dealing with the daily craziness of life… if Oggy proves that is something he can accomplish than he would deserve to be granted an opportunity.”
As long as the people have supported the Cockroach Janta Party there are a number of supporters with the CJP who are very secure they will continue to have the power they’ve had because they have established legitimacy both on the ground and in the experience they have in the politics.
As a worker for the CJP stated, “they can say as much as they want however politics is about strategy, not just sleeping.”
Key Promises in the OJP Manifesto
The Oggy Janta Party has made their inaugural declaration unveiling a 5-point agenda that they believe will be very attractive to middle class or young voters. The promises made by the party are as follows:
- Affordable housing options
- Increased sanitation and pest control
- Publicly funded entertainment zones that are free of political influence
- Support programs that provide free milk and food
- Zero tolerance policy for making someone else a target.
In addition, they also noted that they are going to contest in upcoming municipal elections across many wards where the Cockroach Janta Party has traditionally had very strong support.
Political Battle Ahead
With the election season looming, many expect the tension and fight between the OJP and the Cockroach Janta Party will escalate dramatically. Experts expect there to be aggressive campaigning and humorous exchanges as well as high levels of public participation leading up to the election.
For the moment, the OJP launch has certainly rattled the political landscape. Whether the party can convert that level of public momentum into winning at the polls remains to be seen; However, one thing is for sure: The brawl between the Oggy and Cockroach party leadership has officially begun.
