Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) was silence on the evening of Wednesday, 14 January 2026 when what has been Intersec’s success-edition to- date came to a close. Over three days, the 27th edition of the leading global trade fair for security, safety, and fire protection served as a beacon to six decades of the future of human safety in Dubai.
Covering a record 65,000 sqm (a 13% increase over 2025), Intersec 2026 hosted more than 1,200 exhibitors from around the world and an estimated 50,000 visitors. From robot dogs that patrol emergency sites, to AI-enabled “cognitive control rooms,” the event showed how the line between science fiction and security reality has become officially muddled.
The Machine Rises: How Robots Are Taking Over The World’s Fires and Robot Dogs using A.I. And Body Language to Teach Each Other!
If there was a “mascot” of Intersec 2026, it would probably have been the high advanced robotics demonstrated by Dubai Civil Defence. One of the highlights was an announcement on high-capacity firefighting robots with water-pumping systems to fight fires in tall buildings — which are often too dangerous for humans to reach.
But the innovation didn’t end with heavy machinery. Visitors were transfixed by robot dogs being developed for speedy emergency service. These four-legged machines are designed to tread on unstable ground, sending rescuers live thermal imaging and gas detection data before they enter a disaster site.
“We’re not just looking for tools; we are creating an ecosystem of resilience,” one lead engineer said at the event. “Our mission driver is that no human responder should ever have to go into a blind” situation, she said.
Intersec Global: A Fresh Era of Diplomacy
One of the highlights on Day Two, saw Messe Frankfurt Middle East announced the official launch of Intersec Global. Based in Dubai, the brand seeks to unite all the Intersec communities all over the world – from Saudi Arabia to Buenos Aires – into one single community network.
Thıs is seen as consolidating Dubai’s status as the world’s “anchor” for security dialogues. Intersec Global, by uniting regulators, government agencies and tech giants all under one roof, is also working to standardise security protocols across borders – so an innovation created in Singapore can be easily implemented in a smart city in the UAE or Europe.
Cyber Security in India: Securing the Digital Frontier – The ”InCyber” Briefing
Robots reigned on the physical floor; the “digital backbone” was fought out in the conference halls. And as the UAE’s market size to grow to $1.2 billion by 2030, the InCyber Briefing became a hotspot for CISOs worldwide.
The emphasis turned away from legacy firewalls to post-quantum preparedness and AI governance. Experts talked about the threat of “Shadow AI” — where employees employ unauthorized AI tools to work, which leads to huge data leaks—and they displayed new video summarization tools that rely on visual language models to turn hours’ worth of surveillance footage into a 30-second intelligence brief.
Paying Tribute to the Guru’s Cushion, Mashkoor Push-Upvolent Initiative
Among high-tech sensors and armoured vehicles, nowhere did the human touch at Intersec 2026 fail to have an impact. Platform where the Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) announced the Mashkoor campaign.
In a novel effort to uplift the spirits of those keeping the city safe, licensed security guards in Dubai can participate in daily cash raffles on WhatsApp. It’s a small but effective gesture that reminds us that technology is only ever part of the solution and without the hardworking security professionals on the frontline, we’re truly dead in Dubai.
Into the Future: The path to 2027
Now, as the 27th anniversary closes, the industry is already turning its attention to the next big change. The Intersec Awards 2026 also recognised a number of “Women Trailblazers” and “Rising Emirati Talents”, representing an ever-more diverse national pool of security professionals.
What Intersec 2026 shows is that safety isn’t a industry anymore it’s a real-time industry.” It is turning into an increasingly predictive, autonomous system woven ever more tightly into the fabric of our smart cities. The event made it clear, whether it be the Passive Fire Day discussing structural fire Safety as a whole or the Control Room Innovation Theatre, “safe” now means “smart”.
