The 10 most powerful countries in the world in 2026 have been named by World Population Review. The US is always at the top of this list. China comes in third, and Russia comes in second. That being said, India is not on the list of the top 10 countries this time. China is now ranked 12th. This is true even though India has the most people, the fourth-largest economy, and the fourth-largest armed force in the world.
Why did the World Population Review say what it did?
World Population Review says that this list was made by looking at a country’s economic power, military power, scientific progress, population growth, stable government, and ability to fully join international organisations. Five things are used to judge the countries: their armed alliances, their foreign allies, their political influence, their economic influence, and their leadership. Countries that rank higher do well in all of these areas over time, which makes them more well-known and powerful on the world stage.
