Recent news sources from entertainment outlets suggest that Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur are no longer an item after months of speculation regarding their relationship status. The most recent report about Dhanush and Mrunal is indicating that the two have “broken up”, even though they have not confirmed to any media that they were actually dating.
The source claims that the breakup news is coming from industry insiders who do not want to be identified. There are therefore no official statements from either actor regarding whether they are together or apart at this time, so most of the claims remain as speculation only.
Breakup Reports Surface Amid Months of Speculation
Dhanush and Mrunal first began being linked romantically with each other in 2025, when Dhanush was spotted supporting Mrunal at the premiere of her film. There are also examples of Mrunal being seen at various types of events that are affiliated with Dhanush, each time leading to more belief by fans that there is a romantic connection between the two actors. Finally, a number of social media accounts referenced posts made by both Dhanush and Mrunal as proof that they were very close to one another, but none of those previous examples have been confirmed, by either Dhanush or Mrunal, as proof that they are still seeing each other or were once a couple.

Mrunal Earlier Denied Relationship Claims
Before breakup speculation began, Dhanush’s ex-girlfriend (and Dhanush’s soon to be ex-girlfriend) publicly shot down speculation about a romantic relationship with Dhanush as well as speculation of their wedding being proposed for Valentine’s Day in 2026.
In interviews she stated that the wedding speculation was erroneous, questioned where misinformation about the duo originated from, joked about Valentine’s Day being “April Fools’ Day” due to disinformation on social media.
Mrunal went on to clarify that she never stated any of her comments had anything to do with wedding speculation and expressed how rapidly misinformation spreads via Twitter and other social media websites and through AI-generated content.

No Response From Dhanush
While Dhanush did not respond directly to the wedding speculation, he has not publicly commented on his relationship with Mrunal or on the speculation with respect to the wedding.
