An investigation and calls for responsibility
The authorities launched an investigation immediately to determine what caused the fire and whether safety rules were followed. At first, a gas tank explosion might have occurred in the kitchen. Still, inspectors promised to review all the evidence, including the building’s plans, emergency routes, airflow, fire safety equipment and license records.

Leaders of the community, members of the resistance and safety experts all called for quick action and clear results. Families of the victims wanted to know how an entertainment place could be open without enough safety measures, and many of them wished criminal charges to be brought if negligence was proven.
