UIDAI Introduces Email Update Facility on Aadhaar App
In an effort to make Aadhaar services more accessible, UIDAI has enabled users to add or modify their email ID directly through the Aadhaar App. The Ministry of Electronics & IT said this eliminates the need for residents to visit a physical Aadhaar centre for email updates.
The free service is available exclusively through the Aadhaar App and came into effect on July 1, 2026. It will remain available at no cost for a period of six months.
The official release stated, “This is a free service via the Aadhaar App only, effective 1 July 2026 for a period of six months, making it easier than ever for residents to keep their Aadhaar information up to date.”
