The national capital was put on high alert for safety after the Delhi Assembly got an email with a bomb threat. The threat was sent early in the morning on the day of the Budget session, which made the officials very worried.
Officials say that the first email was sent to the Assembly’s official email address at 7:28 a.m. Not long after, at around 7:49 am, another email was sent to Speaker Vijender Gupta’s official account. The fact that the emails came just before the important Budget address made things even worse.
The messages said there might be blasts at the Delhi Assembly building, which caused fear and prompted security agents to move right away.
Metro Station was also in Danger
The email not only discussed the Assembly building but also raised concerns about a possible explosion at the Vidhan Sabha Metro Station, which is close by. In the threat, specific times were also given, which made officials even more worried.
Because of this, the Assembly building and the surrounding areas were both designated as protected areas. To ensure everyone was safe, security teams quickly began checking all the locations listed in the email.
The authorities took the threat seriously and moved quickly to avoid any danger.
Threat Message Names Top Leaders
The threat email also named several well known politicians. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were among those named.
The message also mentioned Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa. When such high-level figures were brought up, the situation became more serious, and people across the city became more aware.
The fact that top national and state leaders were involved led security services to believe this was a serious matter.
A huge investigation and security check
After the threat, the Delhi Police and other security groups rushed to the Assembly building and conducted a thorough security check. Bomb disposal groups and sniffer dog teams were sent to the area to do a full search.
Because it was close, the nearby subway stop was checked as well. Officials conducted thorough searches to ensure there were no dangerous or suspicious items or people around.
The checks haven’t found anything dangerous yet. But security has been tightened in and around the Assembly and nearby areas.
There is also a study underway to determine where the email originated and who sent it. The police are trying to determine whether the threat was real.

The budget session goes on despite a threat
Even though the danger was very serious, the Delhi Assembly Budget sitting went ahead as expected. Leaders and officials chose not to let the issue get in the way of doing their jobs.
Throughout the events, security stayed high, and more cops were sent to keep everyone safe. Officials said that these kinds of threats would not stop the Assembly from working.
Nobody in the public got scared because of how calmly the situation was handled. The government has said that they are doing everything it can to keep the area safe.
This event once more shows how important it is to act quickly and follow strict security protocols when dealing with such threats.
