Among the few names that have impressed this year with their performance on the global wealth rankings, Larry Page, Google’s co-founder, is one. He has now taken the second position in the world’s richest person list, where he had not been for some years now. Even though rapid changes in fortunes are typical for Silicon Valley, Page’s story is mostly singular because it has been so low-key lately. The primary reason for this switch is the continuous and unstoppable growth of Alphabet—company Google’s parent—and the consequent tech stock rally connected to artificial intelligence.
