Rahul Gandhi leaves for Europe on vacation

After his last vacation created controversy, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi tweeted his holiday plans and sent wishes for a happy New Near through his twitter account @Officeof RG on Monday.

After attending the celebrations to mark the party’s 131st Foundation Day, Mr. Gandhi tweeted: “I will be travelling to Europe for a few days. A very happy New Year to everyone.” This is the first time that Mr. Gandhi has taken to Twitter to make public his travel plans. His last two trips abroad were much talked about. His 56-day sabbatical in February this year to reflect upon the party’s debacle in Delhi elections had triggered much speculation.

The BJP had raised questions even over his September visit to Aspen, U.S., to attend a conference.
