ndian smartphone market is all set to dazzle this festive season, with top smartphone makers like Apple, Sony, Lenovo and search giant Google ready to launch their latest smartphones in the Indian market.

Apple iPhone 6S, 6S Plus
The first Apple smartphones to feature 3D Touch technology, iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are coming to India on October 16, within a month of its global launch.
While there is no increment in screen size in iPhone 6S (4.7-inch HD) and iPhone 6S (5.5-inch Full HD) compared to last year’s models, the integrated 3D Touch display allows them to differentiate between types of touches and taps in preloaded apps as well as on the homescreen.
Both iPhones are powered by the new A9 processor with 2GB RAM and run on iOS 9 operating system. They come in 3 storage variants: 16, 64, and 128GB; there is no support for microSD cards for storage expansions.
The rear cameras of the two smartphones have 12MP resolution, backed by dual-tone dual-LED flash, while the front cameras have 5MP sensors. Along with the standard silver, space gray and gold colours, iPhone 6S and 6S Plus also come in a new rose gold hue.
The LG-made Nexus 5X comes with a 64-bit Snapdragon 808 processor with a 2 GB RAM unit. The 5X has a 5.2-inch 1080p display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and a 12MP rear camera with 4K video support. It comes in 16GB and 32GB variants and draws power from a 2,700 mAh battery.
Google Nexus 6P, made by Huawei, features a 5.7-inch screen (1440p resolution), Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM, 8MP front camera and 3,450mAh battery. It comes in three storage options (32GB, 64GB and 128GB).
The upcoming Sony flagship smartphone sports a 5.5-inch 4K Triluminos display, runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB RAM. It has 32GB internal storage, supports microSD cards of up to 200GB capacity, is compatible with 4G networks, and sports a 23MP rear camera with LED flash and 5.1MP front camera.
The smartphone, which has a 3,430mAh battery, supports Qualcomm’s QuickCharge 2.0 technology, which enables users to get 5.5 hours usage with just 10 minutes of charging with a certified Quick Charge 2.0 charger.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, which holds the IP65/68 water-resistance rating, is expected to go on sale in November this year in the country.
The Lenovo Vibe S1 smartphone features a 5-inch full-HD (1080×1920) display and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop). Powered by 64-bit octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor and 3GB RAM, the phone comes with 32GB internal storage. Users can slip in microSD cards of up to 128GB capacity for more storage space.
This metal-body smartphone measures 7.8mm in thickness, weighs 132 grams and packs a 2,50mAh battery. Lenovo Vibe S1 will be available in Pearl White and Midnight Blue colours and supports 4G.
According to Lenovo, Vibe S1 will hit international markets in November at $299. India is one of the priority markets for Lenovo, so it is likely that the smartphone will be launched in the country soon.
Sony Xperia Z5 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920p) display, whereas Xperia Z5 Compact has a 4.6-inch display with HD (720x1280p) resolution. Both smartphones support QuickCharge 2.0 technology for fast charging as well; the Xperia Z5 has a 2,900mAh battery, whereas its smaller sibling has a 2,700mAh power-pack.
Both Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact share the remaining features with Xperia Z5 Premium, including Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) software, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, microSD card support up to 200GB, 4G compatibility, and 23MP rear and 5.1MP front cameras.
On the back of Zenfone Max is a 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and dual-tone, dual-LED flash, whereas the front camera has 5MP resolution. This 4G smartphone comes with Asus’s ZenUI software, based on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), out of the box.
Gionee S5.1 Pro packs a 2,400mAh battery, and sports 13MP primary camera with LED flash and 5MP secondary camera with an 81 degree viewing angle. The phone supports 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and GPS as connectivity options.
The dual-sim smartphone has a thin body that measures 5.35mm and the phone along with its battery weighs around 129grams.
